Sports Physical Therapy in Winston-Salem, NC
Rehab That Doesn't Stop at 80%
Elite Movement is a cash-based sports PT and performance clinic in Winston-Salem's Innovation Quarter, built for athletes who want more than symptom relief. You'll work one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy — no assistants, no recycled programs.

What Keeps Athletes Stuck at 80% Recovery
You Rest, Feel Better, Then Re-Injure on the Next Hard Push
Pain relief is only halfway there. Without addressing the strength and movement gaps that caused the injury, the next heavy lift, long run, or hard training session brings it right back — sometimes worse.
You Plateau Around 80% and Never Quite Get Back to Full Training
You modify workouts, avoid the movements that hurt, and tell yourself it'll sort out eventually. It rarely does — and that 20% gap limits every training decision you make from that point on.
Standard PT Sends You Home Before the Real Work Starts
Generic PT focuses on pain relief and basic exercises, not on returning you to full training. There's no return-to-sport phase — just a discharge note and a home exercise sheet to figure out on your own.
Full-Cycle Rehab Built Around Your Goals
At Elite Movement, every session is one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy — no rotating staff, no cookie-cutter programs. Your treatment plan is built from a real performance assessment and follows you all the way through return to sport, not just out of pain.

What Athletes Come to Us Dealing With
From runners to lifters to youth athletes — across the board.
Runner's Knee & IT Band Syndrome — running pain that sidelines training and cuts mileage short.
Shoulder Pain & Rotator Cuff Issues — limiting pressing, overhead work, and throwing mechanics.
Low Back Pain — recurring flares that interrupt lifting, running, and everyday training.
Hamstring & Hip Injuries — from acute strains to chronic tightness that limits speed and power.
Plantar Fasciitis & Achilles Pain — foot and lower leg issues that make every step a decision.
ACL & Knee Injuries — including post-surgical rehab focused on performance-level return to sport.
Elbow & Shoulder Impingement — common in overhead athletes, throwers, and competitive lifters.
Post-Surgical Rehab & Return to Sport — bridging the gap between surgical clearance and full athletic performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
We know cash-based care comes with questions. Here are the most common things athletes and active adults ask before booking their first visit at Elite Movement — plus the honest answers.
Cash-based care means your session is built around your goals — not an insurance billing code. You get more time, one-on-one attention with a DPT every visit, and a plan designed to actually return you to full performance. We provide superbills for patients who want to seek out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance carrier. HSA and FSA accepted.
Our approach targets the underlying movement and strength deficits behind the injury — not just the pain signals. We take you through every phase of recovery, including return-to-sport progressions, which is the phase most programs skip entirely. Many of our athletes notice they come back feeling stronger and more resilient than before the injury.
No referral needed. North Carolina allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can book a free phone consult and get started right away.
Every case is different depending on the injury, your baseline, and how quickly we can progress your training. We give you an honest timeline after your initial evaluation — no vague answers. What we can say is that we don't discharge you until return-to-sport testing confirms you're actually ready.
Dry needling and BFR are tools used within your treatment plan — not standalone services. Dry needling targets trigger points and tight tissue to restore movement quality. BFR uses low-intensity exercise with partial circulation restriction to build strength safely during recovery. Whether we use either depends entirely on your assessment and what will move you forward fastest.
