Physical Therapy in Winston-Salem, NC

Get All the Way Back. Not Just Out of Pain.

Athletes and active adults come to us when pain, injury, or a nagging limitation is holding back training, work, or everyday life. At Elite Movement, you work one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy to find what's actually driving the problem, then build a plan that takes you all the way through recovery — not just out of pain.

Why Standard PT Leaves You Short

You Get Pain Relief, Then Get Discharged

Most clinics stop once the sharp pain fades and send you home with a sheet of exercises. The strength and movement gaps that caused the problem never get addressed — so it's only a matter of time before it resurfaces.

You're Split Between an Aide and a Rotating Schedule

High-volume clinics divide their therapists across several patients at once. You get a few minutes of real hands-on time, a tech for the rest, and a program that wasn't built specifically for you.

Return to Full Activity Is Never Actually Confirmed

Without objective testing — strength benchmarks, movement screens, loading tolerance — you're guessing about whether you're ready to go back to full training, work, or daily life.

Common Conditions We Treat

Who We Work With

I tore my Achilles several years ago and had surgery to repair it. After the initial recovery I was still struggling with regaining strength across my entire lower body. I was also suffering from back, neck, and shoulder pain as a result of that weakness. I saw 3 different physical therapists over a 4 year period with no real results. After working with DC Performance for a couple months, I felt stronger and the pain across my body basically disappeared. DC Performance listens to what the issues are and addresses them at the source, as opposed to printing out a template exercise program that provides topical solutions. I’ve been doing DC Performace exercises for almost three years and have never felt stronger and more comfortable.

Elite Movement is truly top-notch! While I primarily work with Davis, the entire team is always professional and welcoming every time I visit. Davis takes the time to explain each exercise and how it supports my goals, which is appreciated. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and features high-quality equipment. Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions people most often ask before booking their first visit at Elite Movement.

What does physical therapy at Elite Movement look like?

Your first visit is a full evaluation — movement screen, strength testing, and a review of your history — with your Doctor of Physical Therapy. From there, we build a plan around what the assessment actually found, with every follow-up session led by the same DPT.

Do I need a referral for physical therapy in North Carolina?

No referral needed. North Carolina allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can book a free phone consult and get started without waiting on a physician's order. If imaging or a specialist referral makes sense, we'll tell you directly after your evaluation.

How is cash-based PT different from going through insurance?

Cash-based PT means a full hour, one-on-one with your DPT — no aides, no split-session billing, and no visit limits set by your insurance plan. We can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement, but insurance never dictates how your plan is built.

How long does physical therapy typically take?

Timeline depends on how long the issue has been going on, your current baseline, and how you respond to treatment. Most patients notice meaningful improvement within a handful of visits, and we'll give you an honest projection after your first evaluation — not a vague estimate.

Can I keep training or working while I'm in PT?

In most cases, yes. We work with your current training, work, or activity load, modify what needs to change, and build a plan that keeps you as active as possible while we address what's driving the problem.
